How a diamond is grown in Melbourne, and why it is the same thing.
Grown
A diamond seed the size of a grain of sand goes into a chamber with carbon gas and heat. Over about three weeks, carbon settles on it, layer by layer, in the diamond lattice.
Cut
The rough is scanned and cut here for light return, not for weight. Excellent cut, every stone.
Certified
Sent to IGI, graded like any diamond, laser inscribed on the girdle with the report number.
Set
Six claws in 18k gold or platinum, by hand, in Fitzroy. Your size, your metal, six weeks.
The difference
Price and origin. Nothing else. A tester reads it as diamond because it is one.
